Word for Today: Homeward Bound

“If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.” Romans 14:8

We belong to God. What great power and peace to know that we belong – and not only do we just belong but we belong to the God Almighty. He is ours and we are His. We are His people. Nothing can change that truth!

The journey of following Christ can be lonely at times. You can be surrounded by people but not truly received or understood by them. You may face great trials and your portion may require carrying a burden that is too great. But take heart, its okay and you will make it just fine. Do not fret because remember that you belong to God. No greater comfort than knowing you belong to God! All things are but a fleeting a moment compared to what Christ has prepared for us heavenward.

Look up and look forward to your beautiful Savior riding on the clouds coming for you one day. But until then, continue journey and run the race that has been set before you and do it with love and humility.

Prayer: Dear Father, Thank you for your Son Jesus Christ who bore all that is not of you so that I can freely have all that is of you. All things are but a fleeting moment as I wait for the greatness of all that you are doing. Give me the strength to live for you daily. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
