Word: Teachable (Wed.5/20)
A man’s steps are directed by the LORD…” Proverbs 20:24a
Pray for a teachable spirit and seek to live in such a way that showsyou are teachable. Success and accomplishing great things for God for His glory has nothing to do with your ability but living a life that is teachable. You may have the greatest of great teachers, preachers, business men,or worship leaders in your midst but if you are not willing to proactively receive and be teachable with the intentions of puttinginto practice what you are given, how do you benefit from those individuals and the information acquired?
Be teachable to correction. Be teachable to learn new things. Be teachable to God and to the prompting of the Holy Spirit. Having ateachable spirit is not a skill or ability you can learn or acquire but rather it is a condition of the heart and positioning your mind accordingly.
Don’t miss out on your destiny and the thing God is preparing for youright now for what He has purposed you for because you were not teachable. Seek to be teachable in all things by being humble. Be humble in understanding you are not God, you do not know everything and you cannot do this “life” alone. Seek to be one who learns from others and even more, learn from your Father and put it into practice at once!
Prayer: Dear Father, Thank you for giving Jesus as the greatest example. He was 100% man and 100% God yet teachable and humble as Hefollowed your example. Help me today to recognize where I am notteachable and help me to change my ways beginning with my heart. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
