Word for Today: a word, The Word

“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14

The Word of God is sufficient, it is more than enough. If God never spoke a word through another human being to you, His divine Word would still be enough for He is the Word which became flesh. However, in God’s goodness and His abundant provision, He allows us to receive a word by His Word through another man or woman of God for our encouragement.

God is reminding His people today that we all have the ability and capability of hearing from God and catching God’s vision and intention for our life. The same God that speaks through a pastor is the same God that is available and ready to speak to you. God’s thoughts and desires towards your life can and have been made known as you spend time with Him. We must get to know God and then have time where we self evaluate in order to become self aware to correlate the things we have learned in our quiet time and how it applies to our personal life/situation. The depth of your understanding and the revelations of God revealed to you are directly related to the measure of your desperateness and hunger for God and your awareness of yourself. Are you willing to go the distance to seek, find and hear from God?

When someone speaks a word over you, it should not be entirely “new” or foreign to you. Yes there may be details or parts that are unclear or fresh, it should be an uncovering of a different layer of the grand picture that He has already been speaking and showing you. A prophetic word or a word of wisdom spoken over your life is to serve as a source of encouragement, confirmation/affirmation, to enlarge your vision and/or be a reminder of what the Word of God has already spoken to your spirit as a result of your personal time in the secret and quiet place with Him.

We are thankful to God for the different gifting He gives to each believer to edify the Body of Christ, we need one another. God understands how challenging it can be navigating through life so He gives us one another because He longs for us to succeed and live in daily victory. What a good God! However, be careful to never exalt the blessings and things of God over God Himself.

God desires that we would be a people who would get with Him personally. Let’s tap into the provisions of God and receive a word from God through His Word for our very own lives. And as we join together as a Body of Believers, what great rejoicing and celebration will take place! When we each rise up, get with our God and do our God-given part, we position ourselves to reap a greater harvest.

Prayer: Dear Father, thank you for your Word that is living and active. It is more than enough. You have already given me what I need but you go the extra mile and you give me in excess and abundance the Body of Christ to encourage and confirm the things of you. I bless you. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
