Word: Blessings (5/6)

“A wise man’s heart guides his mouth, and his lips promote instruction.” Proverbs 16:21

We here this often, “speak blessings” but how many of us actually by faith speak words of blessings over our lives, our families and our circumstances?

If we could record everything we spoke in a course of a day, would they prove to be words of faith and blessings or words of doubt and downcast?

Stop and listen to yourself. The tongue holds great power, how dangerous for the tongue to go unchecked. You wouldn't drive a car without properly being inspected would you?

To live a faith-filled, power blessed life, we must be aware and intentional about every word that comes forth from our mouth. Perhaps many believers are living under “blessed” because of the very words they speak.

God is challenging His people to put into check the words we speak. Ask God to inspect your heart and allow the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth of your thinking and the meditations of your heart. Let’s not be people who negate and hold back the blessings of God in our lives by the very words we speak.

Prayer: Dear Father, there is power in the spoken word. Please help me to check and evaluate the words that come forth from my mouth. May they be words that reflect your Truth, your promises, the hope I have in you and the goodness of Your character. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
