Leadership - Jesus our Model

Jesus the Greatest Leader, the Greatest Teacher - the model to which we should follow.

He loved people. He tended to people. He met the physical needs of people which opened their eyes to see their spiritual need of a Savior.

Jesus was always about the business of His of Father. He kept His eyes fixed and focused on the assignment to which His Father sent Him to planet earth. But as He went about doing the work of His Father and the needs of people became known, He tended to them and then returned to the work of His Father.

Jesus was focused. He knew His call, purpose and season. He operated in such. There was a specific appointed time when He began to perform miracles, before that appointed time, He did not attempt - He understood His season and His time. When the anguish was difficult and the ridicule ached, He stood strong because He held onto the promise of His Father and the call His Father charged Him with. Jesus was focused on the reason He was sent to earth, but never too focused to that caused Him to neglect and ignore the cries of those in need. Jesus was compassionate above all.

He was passionate about the work of His Father and had great compassion for the people of the work of His Father. He always kept those close by.

Jesus was confident, He knew who He was and whom He belonged too. Because He knew the Father. He lived by principles and not just the rule. He understood spiritual authority and submission. He waited on God the Father to justify and defend His name and honor. Jesus was practical.

Jesus built a relationship with 12 men, He walked with them, ate with them, slept with them - He was among them, He did life with them. Are we not called to do the same? That is discipleship, the way Jesus did it.

If God created us for a relationship and later sent His Son to restore and reconcile that relationship due to sin, would it not also be the intention of God the Father for us to approach ministry as such as well? A relationship? We have been given a ministry of reconciliation - a ministry of building relationships!

Jesus, the Greatest Teacher, the Greatest Example, the Greatest Leader, Jesus our Model.
