Word for Today: In The House

GOD, my shepherd! I don't need a thing. You have bedded me down in lush meadows; you find me quiet pools to drink from. True to your word, you let me catch my breath and send me in the right direction. Even when the way goes through Death Valley, I'm not afraid when you walk at my side. Your trusty shepherd's crook makes me feel secure. You serve me a six-course dinner right in front of my enemies. You revive my drooping head; my cup brims with blessing. Your beauty and love chase after me every day of my life. I'm back home in the house of GOD for the rest of my life. Psalm 23 (Msg)

There is no safer place than being in The House of the Lord. I am not speaking only literally being in His House among His people but I am also speaking in spiritual terms. To be in His House is to abide in the shadow of His Almighty Wing and to be caught in His presence – in a love affair.

I truly believe as we constantly practice being in the Father’s House, we will find satisfaction, fullness, direction, peace, security, justification, and above all, sweet love!

God is challenging His people today to get in His House. Get in His sweet presence, to gaze upon His beauty. Regardless of the season of life God is bringing you through, one thing you’ll always need is a life that is constantly “in the Father’s House.” Let’s move beyond just physically being in His House out of ritual and routine and get in His House to truly meet with the King of Glory. Walls down and roof off, with abandonment and child-like persistence, get in the House and stay in the House!

Prayer: There is no safer and greater place to be than in your presence and among fellowship of the Body of Believers. I bless you Lord for the privilege I have to enter into your Courts and to gaze upon your beauty. I long to dwell in your House for all of my days. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
