Word for Today: Enjoy God
"…being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience…" Colossians 1:11
There are no shortcuts to experiencing God and reaping the fullness of His blessings. Too often we want a spirit-filled, fruitful Christian life quick, painless and simple. We turn to people, programs, formulas and methods for quick fixes and solutions when all the time we are to turn to The One – our Father. If we fail to begin and end our day with God, surely we have planned to fail.
God is challenging His people today to buckle up and enjoy the ride but even more, enjoy God. We can be in such a hurry to do and accomplish things for God we end up missing God all together. Not only does God challenge us to enjoy Him but He wants us to enjoy the process which includes waiting, being patient, seeking, watching and most importantly, trusting. We trust in God's perfect timing and as we are obedient and faithful, we trust that He is working all things together.
I urge you not to rob yourself of all that God has in store by being impatient and constantly jumping from one thing to the next. Chill out and hang out long enough to see the fruit of what was sowed during the waiting season. If you find yourself frustrated or feeling as if you are not experiencing everything you sense you are suppose to, have you yourself been robbing yourself by not enjoying your God?
The reality is this, there are no shortcuts, fast track program or speedy check-out lane to get you into a deeper, more intimate and satisfying relationship with God. But I tell you this, once you understand the true prize, the true reward of it all – which is God Himself, than the wait is well worth it.
Prayer: Dear Father, Thank you for YOU, yourself is my Prize and my great Reward. Please help me to be patient and to wait in your perfect and sovereign timing to bring all things together. I trust in you and I choose to start everyday for the rest of my life with you. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
