Word for Today: Overflowing Joy
“I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ.” Philemon verse 4
Have you been lacking joy in your life lately? Is your situation, circumstance, load to bear (ministry, work or school) attempting to squeeze you dry of your joy? Do as the scripture above exhorts, share your faith.
Joy restored is not a change in your situation but a change in your heart and your attitude towards the things that may pose as a “threat” to your joy. When we share our faith, we remember the depths from where we were and we quickly move to gratefulness for the depths to which God has rescued us. As we open our mouth, our joy is restored, we overflow into the life of another person and we put the enemy back in his place – under our feet.
Our joy is secured and complete IN Christ and we overflow in that joy as we open our mouths in sharing our God-story. Open your mouth and re-tell how good God has been to you and watch your spirit bubble over with joy! Halleluiah!
Prayer: Dear Father, You are my joy and in you my joy is complete. Thank-you for reminding today that joy is found in giving away what you have given to me through my personal relationship with you. I long to live a life of overflowing joy. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
