Word for Today: Fuzzy (Wed. 1/7)
"I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." John 8:12
As some of you know, I have been wearing my glasses for the past 3 months due to an eye thing that has been going on. I praise God for it is not serious but a bit tiresome as I am not in a proper eye prescription and won't be until my vision stabilizes. Nonetheless, God works all things for the good and He has been teaching me tons in light of my physical condition. Praise God!
In the same way as my vision is blurry and hazy, as we journey with Christ, not all things concerning our life and His will on earth will be crystal clear and presented on a "silver platter" perfectly mapped out for us to understand. Our natural tendency (flesh) is to cry, whine, kick and scream with a bad attitude and eventually abort due to frustration of not being able to "make out" or make sense of what we are suppose to be seeing. God is reminding us today not to abort and to give to our flesh but to continue to draw closer until the vision becomes clear. During moments when the vision appears to be fuzzy, hazy and a bit blurred, continue to draw closer. Draw closer to the One who gives the vision and draw closer to the vision by watchfully continuing to take faithful and consistent steps until God makes all things a bit more clear. God is not so much concerned with us grasping the vision so that we can be on our next mission for Him, though that is an eventual result and fruit we anticipate. I believe God is way more concerned with what we learn in each faithful step and how we rely upon Him during those moments of haziness and blur.
So the next time you find yourself in a "blurry" situation and not sure of what to do, continue to draw closer to The One and faithfully continue at what God last instructed you to do. In due time, all things will be made known and clear as we learn to trust in Him for every step.
Rest assure for our God is an incredibly gracious Father where He never leaves us completely and utterly in the dark. He always at least allows shadows and fragments of shapes of the vision so that we may remain hopeful and encouraged until the picture is revealed.
Prayer: Dear Father, You are my Vision. I do not want to take one step without your instruction and without your leading. Help me to rely completely upon you in all things and in all situations. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
