Word for Today: Live Love (Mon. 1/26)
“I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance…you have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary. Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken your first love. Remember the height from which you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first…” Revelation 2:2-4
In everything you do, do it for love. In all that you attempt to gain and attain even for the namesake of Christ, do it for love. In your good works and service to God, do it for this sole reason, for love. It is for love that God sent His precious Son to redeem and restore us into a love relationship with Him. It is all for love because of Love. The love of the Father should compel us and be the powerhouse of why we do what we do and how we go about doing what we do.
If you find yourself constantly struggling and always feeling you can never move higher or further than where you begin, let me ask you what is your driving force? Your motivation? Are you running the race primarily as a servant, leader or even to be a “good” Christian? Or are you running the race out of your status as a Son/Daughter of the King Most High and your Daddy’s love moves you to do what you do? When we love someone and understand their love for us, it makes “doing” things more pleasant and joyful. It is not a burden we must simply endure and barely scrape by but it is a joy and we will soar in His love as we live His love.
When we are filled with the love of God that comes from a Father/Child (son/daughter) relationship, we will naturally overflow with God’s love in all that we do. It is out of the knowledge of God’s immense and great love for us as His Children are we able to run The Race and fight the Good Fight regardless of what difficulties and hardships we face.
Love is the SOLE driving force behind what God the Father has done and continues to do today. He is challenging His people to remember to do it for love. Pure love, God’s love because of His Love.
Prayer: How great is your love for me. It is so great, so high, so wide that my finite mind cannot begin to comprehend the vastness of our infinite love. Thank you for your love, unfailing love which should always be the driving force of everything I do on this earth. When I do it all for love, there is no room for pride, strife or sadness because your Love is my reward, my prize. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
