Word for Today: Disability (1/12 - Monday)

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Hebrews 12:1 (NIV)

What "disability" - it could be literally a physical disability or something emotional, mental or spiritual that is disabling you from either starting, following through or completing this "race" we are in?

God desires for us to keep running the race regardless of what may be thrown at us and what external or internal factors that may pose as a "disability." Choose to not live disabled and out of the deficiency of our own ability and begin to live out of His abundance and His ability. The secret to keeping in the race is just that, resolve to stay in the race and to keep running regardless of what comes your way. Difficulties, sickness, and hardships will come your way but choose to remain and to keep your eyes fixed on your Father. As our eyes are continually fixed on Him and in essence His abundant ability and power, we soon realize we have no time to pay attention to our "disabling" factor and we just run.

If you are facing a "disabling" factor today, though how real and true it may be, choose to not live out of that disability but His abundant ability to work in and through us. There is nothing too great without God's help that should disable us from completing the race. God is challenging His people today that you can. By His love, you CAN. Re-shift your vocabulary today from I can to I will. You can praise Him through any storm AND you will. You can do it regardless of the "disabling" factor AND you will.

Do not be discouraged. What appears to be a "disability" in your life is a magnificent and grand opportunity for us to show off God's ability! Keep in the race. Run, run, run towards your Father and let nothing or anyone hold you back. Halleluiah!

Prayer: Dear Father, you are able and you enable me. You are my Coach! I thank you for you lack nothing and I can fully and completely trust in your enablement of me to complete the task and raze you have set for me. Help me to continually keep my eyes fixed upon you. I love you. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
