Word for Today: Face Time

"The LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks with his friend…” Exodus 33:11a

Everything that happens in our life is for this main purpose, to get us face to face with God. Whether a “prodigal” son or daughter needs to draw back to the Father, or a broken heart that needs to draw from the Father for healing or someone who is walking with God “well” but they seem to be hitting a glass ceiling needs to draw into the Father for greater intimacy, it is all for this reason, personal face time.

God wants to see your face but even greater, He longs for you to see His face – in all of it’s glory, splendor but even more, His love.

During seasons of trial, blurriness and even moments of temporary “blindness,” it is good. It is good because God allows (does not cause) those moments to unfold often times so that we are “forced” to have face time with Him because He is that jealous for you. God knows how our hearts’ often wander. And for that reason, He will allow situations to come about to draw us back. How intense is His love for us! His pursuit is gentle yet “forceful” for He is that madly in love with us and desires for us to respond to His jealous love. Consider it pure joy that you have the privilege to draw back, draw to, draw from and draw into the Father.

Everything has purpose – there are no accidents, coincidences, mistakes, or mishaps that God cannot use and will not result in drawing us into deeper intimacy with Him. We must choose to see it as such. It is for this reason Christ came, so that we may have the freedom and right to draw to the Father. God longs to have an encounter with you, a face to face encounter. Have you had face time with God lately? Start today.

Dear Father, You are a jealous God because you desire the very best for me which is YOU yourself. Help me to keep all things into perspective through my spiritual eyes that everything that occurs in my life is an opportunity and a set up for me to draw closer and deeper to you and in you. Thank you for pursuing my heart, though wandering at times, your pursuit is constant. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
