Word for Today: Seek
“A generous man will himself be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor.” Proverbs 22:9
Seek to be a blessing rather than always wanting to be the one blessed. For surely we know when we are the “blesser,” we will be blessed in the process.
Today, may God help us to be a people who bless others regardless whether we will directly "benefit" or not. It is for the “people” for which God sent His Son so why would it not be our same charge to be about the “people?” Look beyond yourself and seek to be a blessing, with no desire of a benefit for yourself but knowing when the Kingdom of God advances, we all DO benefit.
Be blessed and satisfied in knowing you connected someone to the Blesser – God Himself by choosing to be His vessel. Whether it is a physical or spiritual blessing, seek to bless. Freely He has given to us so that we can freely and quickly let it flow through us.
Truly it is better to give than to receive because it is not all about you.
Prayer: Dear Father, Thank you for you are not a selfish God. You are a jealous God but even it that, it is for our own good and betterment in you. Thank you for allowing me to be a conduit of your goodness to those around. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
