Word for Today: Laughter

“A cheerful heart is good medicine...” Proverbs 17:22a

God created laugher for a reason, He knows it is good for the soul. Sometimes the best remedy and medicine is a good laugh. God has many great, serious and powerful attributes. I also believe He has a great sense of humor, He is a God who laughs and knows how to have a good time.

When is the last time you and God just had a great laugh together? God desire for us to enjoy all facets of Him. He is a serious God but He is also a God who knows how to relate and meet us right where we are at.

As the days become increasing difficult and the burden and weight of all that is before you begin to sets in, take a moment and just have a good laugh. When the demands and pressures of laugh bear down on you, chill out, recall a funny memory and have a good old laugh with your God.

Yes there is much work to be done for the Kingdom and many lives to be saved and transformed. But even in the midst of “serious” work, let’s enjoy our God and the process. Don’t allow the enemy to steal your joy when the pressures of life roll around. Stop and just laugh.

Prayer: Dear Father, I adore and love the fact that you are powerful and majestic in all of your ways and at the same time, you know how to enjoy and have a good laugh. Surely you are all things to all men at all times. Thank-you for the wonderful gift of laughter, how it brings joy to my spirit and restores me when the pressures of life attempts to steal my joy. I love laughing with you God. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
