Big Brother
Prodigal Son:
The big brother always had the Father's love. His faithfulness and loyality to the Father was not in vain. The older brother will receive not only his alloted inheritance but a double portion because he is the first-born. The older brother's inheritance is still intact even after the younger brother returns home and much celebration take place. The older brother loss nothing but has always had the Father's love.
Some people just need extra loving and attention because of where they have been. Their return home to the Father and the rejoicing that takes place does not take away from the one who has always been faithful, their reward is a different portion. The Father has always been their Great Reward - being with Him the entire time.
