Reflection: Winter Camp
My response to someone who asked about camp:
I think many people finally caught and get what it means to be a "successful" Christian. Resolving and making the decision everyday to simply live in obedience to Christ. Whether we feel like it or not. So often there is a misconception that the measure of an anointed christian or one's maturity level is the number of "super" spiritual encounters, quake, shaking prayers or sobbing on the ground impartations. Yes, it does happen. But don't feel like a defeated christian if it doesn't happen everytime you go to do a devotion.
Somewhere along the way I think some people have developed this perception that the measure of my maturity or closeness to God is the number of "big" super spiritual, super natural encounters I have. So what we may begin to do without realizing is we live and only wait for "big" things - miracles, spiritual highs, events to jumpstart our christian life. There needs to be a balance. When we condition people in this way, we neglect to remind ppl the beauty and will of God to love, serve Him and find Him in the EVERYDAY things - simple, mundane but everyday. Yes, God is still very much in the business of miracles and healings and supernatural things but He is in the everyday.
