Word: Stay the Course (Tues. 9/15)

“We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed and broken. We are perplexed but we don’t give up and quit. We are hunted down, but God never abandons us. We get knocked down, but we get up again and keep going.” II Corinthians 4:9-10 (NLT)

Though there is pain in the offering, stay the course. Though there is persecution living a life that chooses to honor God, stay the course. Though the cost of following Christ requires much sacrifice, stay the course. Though the narrow path is lonely and heavy at times, stay the course. God is reminding His disciples (you and I) today to stay the course.

Whatever it takes, whatever you have to do, fix your eyes on your Sweet Maker and stay the course. Let not your heart grow weary or be swayed by anything but His sweet love. Stay the course for in due time, a great harvest will be reaped. But even greater, an intimate relationship with your Lord Jesus Christ is being deepened as we rely upon Him for all things.

Jesus Christ stayed the course. How? He fixed His eyes on His Father, He faithfully obeyed every instruction from His Father and above all, He loved His Father. Stay the course as your heart fixes on your Savior and as His love compels you.

Prayer: Dear Father, I choose to continue to run the race. I choose to stay the course and proactively wait upon you. Though it may be long in the wait, I trust you. In Jesus’ Name
