Word for Today: All For

"Whatever we do, it is because Christ's love controls us..." II Corinthians 5:14a

We do all things for love, in love and with love because God is Love. It's all about love, that's the motivating factor - that is the most powerful weapon that would melt any hardened heart and tear down any scheme of the enemy. It's the secret ingredient (and only) that keeps us going long after everyone else has given up. It's the key that causes us to withstand in the face of adversity and persecution and perhaps even misunderstandings. It's the sole reason that sent Jesus Christ to the Cross and it is the sole reason to why we should do all that we do. It's all for
love because it is all about Love (God Himself).

As we press in service to our Lord Jesus Christ and as we serve the local church of believers, may we be reminded that in all things, it is all for Love (God) and for love (the overwhelming love we have received from Christ) in which we overflow, move and have our being. If serving Christ and the local body is overwhelming, draining, a duty rather than a joy, or perhaps you just feel like you don't want to anymore, may I ask you what is your motivating factor? Is it out of the enormous love you have received from God which can only be found in a relationship or is it out of good works and deeds as a good servant? Being a good servant is great, but it has its' limits. But if you have your being and do all things out of your position and overflowinig joy as a son or daugther, your cup will always be full.

The question is not whether you should be serving our Lord through the local church, the question today is, what is your compelling reason and motivating factor for doing so? May God search our hearts today and purify all things -- leaving us with nothing but His love which consumes are very body and permeates into all that we do.

Prayer: Dear Father, You are Love. May I stay in constant relationship with you that I may overflow in a healthy and living way. Love is the answer -- it is the only way. In Jesus Name, Amen.
