Word: Honest (Mon. 9/21)
“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.” Psalm 51:10-11
Sometimes we just need to be honest and admit to God, “My bad, I messed up.” Or perhaps, “That decision/word/action was a lapse in judgment Lord, I own up.” Whether the act was intentional or unintentional, we just need to fess up. We can rationalize or analyze whichever way we want but sometimes we just need an honest, “oops, that one was on me God.” The great thing about our honesty before God is that even before we confess, His grace is already on its way covering us and is love constantly restores us.
So where ever you may be right now, perhaps you just need an honest heart to heart talk with your God. No need for super spiritual or crafty words, just an honest conversation with your Father. And after you have that honest conversation, choose to move forward. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and say, “I’ll do better next time, God. But I thank you for your mercy that gives second chances.”
Prayer: Dear Father, I praise you for you are a God that redeems all things that are brought before you with a heart of humility seeking your redemption. Sanctify all that was meant for destruction and things that once dishonored you and make it shine forth your glory. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
