Word for Today: Peace Rules
“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.” Colossians 3:15
Peace rules. We are to be at peace at all times because we are called to peace which is God Himself. God is Peace. May your heart be at peace today for whatever decision/situation you face.
If you are trying to discern the will of God and whether something is of God or not, let the peace of Christ in your heart be an indicator. When we encounter a situation, a decision or fork in the road, take the “peace rule” test. Are you at peace? Does that decision leave you at peace or still uneasy? If uneasy, refrain from making a decision and inquire of the Lord. Ask God for wisdom as to why and for a clear confirmation of what to do next – watch and pray. And when He leads, quickly obey the prompting of the Holy Spirit.
The long time trap of the enemy is to trip us up with our fleshy eyes. Just because the details of your situation or decision may still be fuzzy and the entire picture still unclear, that doesn’t mean you are not on the right track. Even though it may appear chaotic, illogical or just plain crazy but if you have the peace of Christ, continue to be at peace and continue to wait upon your God.
May the peace of Christ rule in your heart at all times and be your guide.
Prayer: Dear Father, Thank you for you provide everything I need to live a victorious life. Thank you for granting me peace that truly transcends all understanding. I am called to peace, to live in peace and to be at peace at all times. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
