Word for Today: Love Marks

“The sun rose above him as he passed Peniel, and he was limping because of his hip.” Genesis 32:31

Jacob had a fighting spirit. He wrestled with God and overcame. As a result of his tenacity and resolve to be blessed by God Almighty, he received what he came in search for, a blessing. But not only did Jacob receive a blessing but even more valuable, he had a supernatural encounter, a face-to-face meeting with The One who is Faithful, God Himself!

As we journey, it’s not just about the blessing, redemption, deliverance, restoration, forgiveness or healing. But it’s ALL about the Blesser, Redeemer, Deliverer, Restorer, Forgiver and Healer. It’s all about God and that sweet encounter and relationship. The blessing is just God's icing on the cake. So as we wrestle and press on in this race, God desires more than anything to show us Himself, to pour out His love and to prove Himself faithful to you and I. That's what it is all about.

So if you have a few scars, bumps, wounds or even a limp from your battle, what is lost when you look back and are able to see the faithfulness of God that brought you through? And when God brings you through, you are so much stronger and far more in love with God than when you went in!

Jacob walked away from his encounter with God changed, inside and out. He even walked away with a limp...but also with his blessing! Consider the limp as a love mark or a love reminder of God's Love and faithfulness!

God never said the process would be easy, pretty or painless. But through it all, He says “it WILL be worth it because great is my love and faithfulness towards you.” So press on. Knowing that by our wounds, He heals us. Great is His love!

Prayer: Dear Father, you are faithful, yes you are. I gladly endure and run this race knowing that you are my Great Reward and it is You that I need. How blessed I am to encounter you in a deeper capacity through all the trials and testing. I bless you. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
