Word: Sweet (Tues. 7/28)

“I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD” Psalm 27:13-14

How sweet it is to trust in the Lord. He is trustworthy and the One in Whom we can place our trust. What is the basis of this trust? God’s goodness for He is a Good God, ALL of the time!

Even in the midst of chaos, confusion, pain, fear and uncertainty, we CAN be confident that all things will turn out for the good because our God is a good God. How can we confidently wait in trust and hope? This can ONLY be possible if you know who your God is and His promises. So if the waiting in confidence and sweet trust is not a sweet song but a bitter note for you, how well do you know your God? If every bump in the road gets you bent out of shape, where is the basis of your trust? Return to that Relationship. Get to know your God so well and so intimately that nothing can shake you for you have seen the Living God.

Do not wish the waiting or the challenging seasons away, it must happen so that we may see God in a greater way and so that He may prepare us for what He has purposed and prepared for us. So wait. As we wait on God, our trust in Him is deepening, our love for Him increases and the revelation of another dimension of God’s character is being made known to us. How sweet!
So wait and get to know your God in the wait. It IS so sweet to trust and wait. And in that very act of trusting and waiting, we will find rest and peace for our soul.

Prayer: Dear Father, I confidently wait on you and boldly declare that I will see your goodness in the land of the living if I do not despair, grow faint or give up before you finish your work in me during this season. You are positioning things in the heavenly and you are deepening and stretching my capacity to hold all of the blessings you desire to pour forth. You are good, all of the time. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
