Word for Today: Choosing
“…choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve…” Joshua 24:15b
Our life in Christ is a daily choice. It is a choosing of God’s way and His Will over what our flesh and natural self would choose. This requires an active decision of our will to choose and submit to God’sway, everyday. Choosing God’s way may be easier on some days than others but know that our God is faithful and ready to help at any given moment.
Choosing to keeping running this race of life for the glory of Christ, choosing to speak blessings in the face of accusations, choosing to do good when mistreated and choosing to honor when it is easier to compromise is a daily choice. Choosing to do things God’s way and to seek the things of God first is not always easy but it is possible and imperative if we are to live the FULL life Christ intended.
Wherever this word finds you today, know that you are not trapped butthat you do have a choice. Your difficult situation does not have to be your forever. Your trials are not meant to last forever. The choosing is up to you. Christ has made all things available but not automatic because it requires an action of our will. Choose Christ today.
Prayer: Dear Father, I choose you today. I choose the things of you today. I choose to obey your Word and commandments today regardless of how difficult or challenging it may be. I choose to die to myflesh so that I may know what it is experience you in a greater way. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
