Word for Today: Protection
“The Lord is faithful to all his promises and loving toward all he has made…” Psalm 145:13b
Heed to God’s protection. In God’s perfect purpose and timing, there is protection.
We have a tendency to think that we know better than God or rather we know what is better for ourselves than He does. We do not outwardly or blatantly speak this way but if we were to truly search our hearts and our observe our actions, we do. May God help us to humble and submit ourselves under His Lordship in all things and heed to His protection and prompting.
If we view our situation, purpose and plans of God through our carnal (flesh) eyes, we will no doubt find ourselves discouraged, frustrated, tired and discontent. We want things and we want it now. Though we may have honorable desires, we must wait on God’s perfect timing. God operates like a crock pot at times, slow simmering all of the ingredients to ensure everything is perfect when ready to serve!
While we wait, if we walk by our sight we will begin to view the “waits” and “pauses” of God as a curse because somehow God is “withholding” something good from us. May I remind you today, the “waits” and “pauses” of God are truly the goodness of God demonstrated over our lives in wanting to protect us from a potential failure or pit because something is premature. God is not withholding, He is protecting. He wants us to experience and enjoy that goodness He has been slow cooking in its’ entirety and fullness. Trust in God’s timing and His goodness. His waits and pauses is Him demonstrating His love in protecting us and the very gift that He is getting ready to pour forth.
Prayer: Dear Father, I thank you for loving me to the point of protecting and not allowing me to have certain things before its’ appointed time. Help me to discern and heed to your protection. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
