Word: In All Things (Mon. 6/8)
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Philippians 4:6
In all things through prayer and petition. God has given us the secret to living a life of worry-free and ensuring the provisions of God, through prayer and petition for ALL things. Hallelujah!
Our natural human tendency when a challenging or difficult situation comes about may be to perhaps freak out and immediately jump into “fix” and “solve” mode. While yes we may eventually need to “fix” or “resolve” that situation, God offers an effective principle first; rest in Him through prayer and petition. Prayer moves the heart of God and positions all things so God can move those mountains!
In addition to prayer and petition, God offers an additional and vital principle so that we may see the fruits of those prayers, with thanksgiving present all things. We are not to demand or command, but humbly and reverently present all things in thanksgiving – thanking God in advance by faith for what we believe He has already done in the spiritual realm and then simply wait for His response and next instruction for your situation.
Not an easy principle to practice at first but possible. The waiting element trips people up the most but God's principles always prove to work far better than your attempts to step out on your own and fix your situation.
In everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving. When we pray with thanksgiving, we are essentially bragging on our Daddy by saying "I trust and believe by faith that You can do all things even though I have not yet to seen it come to pass in the physical." Nothing blesses and pleases the heart of the Father more than our full confidence in Him before He unfolds.
Prayer: Dear Father, I thank-you for you are a God who keeps His promises and you have already made all of your promises known to me. I take you at your Word and believe by faith that I have what You say I have in the spiritual and am trusting and waiting for you to bring it to pass in the physical that all may see what an awesome God you are. I love you. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
