Word for Today: Busy
"Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord. O my soul, and forget not all his benefits –"Psalm 103:1-2
You can feel the excitement of the holiday cheer in the air. People are rushing around preparing for the holiday's, planning their Christmas wish list, making last minute plans with friends or families and perhaps even mapping out what stores they will hit up first on "Black Friday." What a great time of the year! I believe God smiles when He sees His children enjoy what He has provided. What a good Father!
As we go about our planning and doing, let's balance and keep a proper perspective on all things. May we not be people who only enjoy in the blessings and forget The One who has blessed and given it to us. In all that we do, may we keep in the forefront of our minds the purpose and true meaning of it all. We can enjoy all of what God has provided while we give honor and glory appropriately to our Heavenly Father who makes all things possible.
Take a moment and simply tell God "thank-you."
Prayer: Thank you Father for being a generous and kind Father. You give good and perfect gifts but above all that we receive from you, we thank you for who you are. In Jesus Name, Amen.
