Word for Today: Control (11/6)
God is in control. He holds everything in His hands and more importantly, He holds you in His hands today.
When we experience storms and obstacles or when we are simply presented with issues of prayer, the enemy will quickly come and whisper to us that God has left us or that He is no longer in control. That is the furthest thing from the truth because God reminds us today that He loves us and indeed He IS in control!
As we trust in God for every detail of our life and everything that concerns us, rest assure in His ability and character to follow through on His promise. Our assignment today is this:
1. Decide today whether we will allow God to be God or we will allow our situation/circumstance to become our "god."
2. Discern what you can control and what you cannot control in your life, situation, circumstance, etc. and finally,
3. Discharge the concern, situation, obstacle, and/or area of prayer into God's hands.
I chose the word "discharge" because I like the fullness of the definition. When we release or discharge something to God, we are not erasing, denying or completely ignoring the situation; that would be a bit irresponsible. What we are doing is giving it over to the One who can handle the situation.
Discharge means this: to relieve of a charge or load; unload; send forth; to pour forth; allow to go; or to relieve oneself of.
God's Word says this: "…Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine…" Isaiah 43:1b
Trust and rest in His loving hands today.
