Word for Today: Spoken Word
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” Genesis 1:1
How powerful is the spoken Word of God that at His voice and command, the heavens and the earth and all of creation as we see it came into existence. His spoken Word has power; it brings life and creative things about.
There are many things I believe that captures the heart and attention of God. One I believe is of course praise and worship. When we praise, we sing of the things He has done, His acts of goodness. When we worship, we adore and magnify Him for who He is in our life. As we praise and worship, we recount all of who God is and all of what He has done in our life. We re-tell Him the things He has done and we express our emotions and thoughts towards Him. How sweet and pleasing it is for God’s ear to hear His children thank him and adore Him! How it blesses Him so.
Praise and worship creates an appropriate atmosphere for God to come and be among us. But how do we get God to not only be among us but to also do a work among us (example: healing)? May I challenge you to think with me on this concept; I believe it is by His Spoken Word and a spoken word.
As I was driving home last night God gave me a clear image that lives at the Revival Conference will be instantly healed and set free as the powerful Word of God (His Truth in Scripture) is being spoken and as the people open their own mouth to confess and declare a spoken word by faith.
You cannot miss the will of God if you simply declare and confess what Christ has already spoken! There is no need for our crafty words or mustered up prayers to beg God to work, simply declare back to Him His own Words – His promises, His Truth.
In scripture we see clearly it was by a spoken word that Jesus commanded healing – His words. Now that we have been given the authority as Sons/Daughters to use the Name of Jesus, when we speak His Spoken Word, I believe God is quickly moved to action.
I think it is one thing to hear someone brag about you and compliment you on how great you are. That’s great but that is still their interpretation. BUT, it is a whole ‘nother level and power when you hear someone speak your own word and declare back the very things you have spoken – word for word! Do you get the power of God’s Word?
Whatever situation you may find yourself in today, take God at His word and tell Him back His own Word for your situation and He will not deny your request! How vital it is for us to know the Word of God – it is Life and the key to which God moves; His own Word!
