abraham
the handiwork of God is amazing as i continue to trust that he is fashioning it all together into this wonderful masterpiece. there are no accidents & nothing is left to chance!
for those who are unaware or still unclear with our 'new season,' check out my blog entry of Sunday, January 10th titled 'closing.' when God confirmed our time to exit, my husband led my heart by way of scripture and the command God gave abraham. God instructed him to go and he went. and in the same way, we went. the sunday we made our announcement, God led me back to the scriptures in Genesis detailing that portion of abraham's journey. and just as the details of abraham's journey was unclear to him at that time, so are the details of our journey because God has yet to fully disclose. we have a sensing of where he is leading but He will disclose each additional step as we step out and into -- that's the element of living on faith and by faith. this may be a challenge for those who 'need' an answer or explanation but we have none to give other than we do not know what 'point a, b, c, etc. looks like but we know the peace of Christ, the voice of God and when we get there, we will then know.' it's hard to explain a faith/God thing so we have resolved to simply live it out. this is God's story, we are his characters.
change is not easy. but change is necessary if we are to continually mature, be of service to God & expand the kingdom His way. in order to receive new things from God, we must be ready for change. in order to be used in a greater capacity, old things must die so that new life can come about. my heart finds much peace in knowing whatever God calls to 'die,' so He will resurrect in a far greater way than before.
my husband & i are constantly living on the edge. we are prepared for change and can sense change before the need for change arrives. we do not sit around and strategically plan these things, we ask & pray for his will and then we follow.
P.S. the church God has led us to is currently going through a series titled: ABRAHAM, process not perfection. how perfectly timed is that?!?
