Word for Today: Momentary
"For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.” II Corinthians 4:17
A momentary bout of “darkness” is not an indicator that all is doomed. A brief “blackout” is not a sign that the woes of last year are a repeat for this year. Take heart, all is not as “doom” and “gloom” as it may appear, it is only but for a brief moment.
This New Year, it is different and it will be different because it begins with our attitude. Regardless if there are brief moments that look like a “repeat” of the not so great moments of last year, do not react, continue to move forward FULL of faith. For in just a while, light will appear and hope will be restored.
God has brought you this far, He’ll take you to where you need to be as long as you continue to trust and take an attitude of faith and joy along for the ride.
Do not be quick to draw a conclusion or go down that “doom gloom” path, it is only but for a brief moment. Shake it off and be at peace knowing that God loves you and He is for you.
Prayer: Dear Father, I praise you for in you I make progress and I advance. Thank you for holding my life securely in your hands. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
