For the past couple of years and here recently even more these past months God has been pressing on my heart to challenge people - the Church and even myself to take back what is rightfully ours. There are so many things that God has designed for good but the enemy has twisted and used it for the advancement of the kingdom of darkness. Why not take it back? Media, internet, etc. is amazing, if used properly. Rather than standing on the sidelines, seperating ourselves all the while hemming and hawing about how bad things are - why not use the enemy's weapons against him and turn it into good for the Kingdom of God?!!
Monitoring and filtering is important and imperative. But what I do not agree with is how some Christians stand back and cut themselves off to the things of this world b/c it is "evil" and they do not want to expose themselves. If we are not among and if we do not get our hands "dirty" for sure there will be no change in our culture or society and the Kingdom of darkness continues to advance. Rather than complaining and essentially living defeated by saying how bad TV is now and the internet, why not rise up and begin to speak of those issues and challenge this generation to tap into all that God is - into His Creativity to begin to take back our culture and media. Christians are the most gifted and creative people ever for we are designed by the Creative Genius Himself!! Rather than getting on the internet and being concerned about accidently typing in an incorrect website that leads to a porn site, flood the interent to the point where when someone gets on and accidently types in an incorrect address, it leads to a Christian website!! Or how about myspace, facebook and youtube! Rather than scandalous and trashy things, flood it with the Living TRUTH of Christ!! Be a difference maker - but too often we feel "outnumbered" or the task is too great so we end up reading the existing culture. We sit on the fence. God is looking for people who are completey SOLD OUT to Him. He longs to move but we long to be comfortable.
As I type this very blog, God is convicting and challenging my very own heart as well. What is my role, and what can I do? The church should be the most creative and innovative and happening place. This conservative girl from NC is a radical mover and shaker for Christ. I think out of the box. Let's talk about real issues and think out of the box of what we think church and Christianity is all about.

My husband and I are praying about getting a website started for my husband. God put it on my heart tonight. God willing and God help :)
