Word: Obedience (Tues. 7/21)

“I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies, and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me.” Genesis 22:17-18

How far would we go to obey God? What would we do, give up or let go in order to live a life in complete submission and obedience to God? If we are to truly be a people who desire to see revival, we must dare to be a people who begin to do some personal soul searching. And as
we proactively begin that soul searching, ask God to reveal what needs to be removed and when He reveals, let us obey by an action of our own will and our own doing.

There is no doubt that we all want great things, the things of God and there is no question whether God wants to pour out those blessings; He does. But the million dollar question by God is “who is willing to obey me – completely, so that those blessings can flow?” There is an order to all things. Obedience lends the next direction by God and as we continue to walk in that obedience, God can’t help but pour blessings down because we walk in His supernatural order.

When push comes to shove, what are we going to do? How badly do we want to take possession of our inheritance? How badly do we want to see our families come to know Christ? There is a cost. There is an act of obedience that will yield a domino affect of the blessings of God to pour forth into your life; if we obey.

It’s not about you. If not for the sake of the Kingdom and Glory of God which compels you to live for His glory, then let it be for the sake of your families eternal salvation and your future children’s destiny that hinges on your act of obedience right at this moment. We
must participate, own up and do our part. The ball is in our court.

Prayer: Dear Father, as Jesus was faithfully obedient even unto death, help me Father to be obedient in every area you have instructed. Reveal to me any areas of disobedience, even the things that do not outwardly appear to be disobedience but because it is less than your best for me, show it to me that I may repent and move forward. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
