Oceans
A year ago this month, a catch phrase caught around my house. The catch phrase was spontaneous as a result of a series of conversations between my husband and his friend. The two were simply in conversation - doing life and living life. Dreaming, discussing, planning, praying, considering, weighing ... and who would have knew (and I'm not sure they even knew) the depth and reality of what that line would soon look like for both of our ministries, families and lives.
It is a divine word that has framed and is shaping this new chapter. Thus far, it has been indicative and reflective of what we are both walking through. It has not only helped to give form to this chapter but it has also given perspective and parameters as we walk in this season. It's not a new line, it's been used before but a divine word in due season is still a divine word in due season.
Six months later after the original utterance, the depth of that word continued to ring true as our feet landed in Seattle and the song "Oceans" by Hillsong resonated even greater in our spirit. I've learned (and am still learning because this requires much discipline on my part) to not draw conclusions (or to make connections, oh but I love to connect things, it's one of my strength themes!) while I'm still in the process. You never know the twists and turns and how the final portrait will look. So it may be best to just keep mum. Lol.
Today, right now, the only way I know and am able to describe in words where we are in life, ministry and everything in between is this, "we're riding the wave." Riding the wave in a great sea of opportunity that begs much trust, faith, and reliance upon God. It's a sweet ride though, we're not alone. We're riding it along with some people we love (email sista, you know who you are!). God is most gracious.
So here we are, riding the wave ... and only God knows where we will land.
